Company
Description
The
Wilson T. Ballard Company was founded in April 1948 by Wilson T. Ballard,
Sr., following 32 years in the practice of civil engineering, including
eight as the Chief Engineer of the Maryland State Roads Commission.
Over the past sixty years, the Company has provided consulting civil
engineering services, with an emphasis in the planning and design of
highways, bridges, water distribution, sewage collection and related
facilities. In addition to staying abreast of the latest changes in
engineering technology, we have also expanded our services to address
society's changing priorities, so that we now also provide services related
to environmental issues such as wetlands, stream restoration, air quality,
and noise abatement.
However, several factors, closely interwoven, have remained constant over
the years: direct management of all projects by an officer or associate of
the Company, a desire to design projects that will improve the community,
and long-term relationships with both our clients and our employees.
Our work has been primarily for government agencies within the Mid-Atlantic
region, and more than 95% or our work is for previous clients. Over 40% of
our employees have been with the Company more than ten years.
